In
the years since Sigma Tau Omega was chartered, the chapter
has begun each year with a variety of goals and programs
that meet the targets set by the International Office.
The 2008-2010 Chapter Program will closely follow the AKA Extraordinary Service Program: Economics, Sisterhood and Partnerships.
The Program includes the following platforms:
Platform I: The Non-Traditional Entrepreneur
Platform II: Economic Keys to Success
Platform III: The Economic Growth of the Black Family
Platform V: Health Resources Management and Economics
The Program Committee, chaired by the chapter's Vice President, is implementing these platforms through the work of four sub-committees:
- Community Outreach
- Economics
- Education
- Health

The scope of this program is to provide mentoring over at least a two-year period for female students transitioning from elementary to middle school that will focus on character, social, and leadership development.
The proposed outcomes are: smooth transition to middle school, successful middle school career, and strengthening of student's self confidence and esteem. Targeted participants may be from any income level but must have a C average.
The program will include group sessions from October to May on the 3rd Saturday of the month with two other forms of mentor/student contact each month, i.e. face to face, phone, or email, and supplemental cultural activities throughout the year. |

| Online Black Business Directory |
| |
From May 1– June 1, we will ask each chapter member to submit the name of at least one black-owned business that they patronize. We then create a webpage listing each of these businesses by service categories including active links to their websites. This webpage will be accessible to the public from our chapter and foundation websites. |

Community Donations |
| |
The chapter annually makes monetary and food/supply donations to non-profit organizations in our service area. In 2008 we have made donations to the Carying Place , the Western Wake Crisis Ministry and the Cary MLK Planning Committee. |
