The Sigma Tau Omega Chapter was chartered in 1990 in Cary, After more than 20 years in this community, we rededicate ourselves to those efforts that improve the lives of citizens, protect our environment, educate our children and empower the underserved. We are committed to making a marked difference in our corner of the world.
Our local programs mirror our relevant International Platforms including:
Social justice and Human Rights
Health
Poverty and Economic Security
Environmental sustainability
After 103 years of service, our sorority has established herself as a powerful voice in the African American community and beyond. We continue to lead the way with our current International Administration's theme: Global Leadership Through Timeless Service. In Cary and Western Wake County, the Sigma Tau Omega Chapter is also a leader, providing consistent service. As the largest chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha in Wake County, we are a welcoming beacon of Sisterhood and Service. During the 2011-2012 administration of this chapter, our theme mirrors our International theme with twist: A Continuum of Excellence. Talented~Trailblazing~Trendsetting
